Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying and Mapping (ICSM) is proud to announce that the Surveyor-General of Victoria, Mr Craig Sandy is its new Chair, commencing this week.
Mr Simon Costello has led ICSM for three and half years as Chair. ICSM would like to thank Simon for his leadership and in particular, thank him for completing the renewal of the National Collaborative Agreement and his focus on delivering the Foundation Spatial Data Framework.
Mr Sandy is a licensed land surveyor with almost 40 years’ experience in the surveying profession. He was previously the Surveyor-General for the Northern Territory of Australia. His focus is on the modernisation of land information systems and communicating the importance of the profession to the community.
ICSM is a standing committee of the ANZLIC – the Spatial Information Council. Together our role is to provide leadership in the collection, management and use of spatial information in Australia and New Zealand. ANZLIC and ICSM are collaborative groups with focus on delivering better outcomes for our communities.
